So I've been twiddling my thumbs trying to decide if I want to embark on the Hall of Fame adventure again this year or not. I was hopeful last year and nada. And then there was SOY....and let me tell you. The first call day came and went, and I had forgotten all about it...so obviously that one had come and gone also. Well I've started hoarding finished layouts that fit the categories for the assignments, so I guess this means I'm going to enter again. One thing that baffles me is the digital media assignment, how in the heck do you copy your blog onto a cd and mail it in? Obviously the mothership has not thought that one through...lol. Sure it may work if you only want a small fraction of the website to be counted toward the assignment, but blogs by nature are ongoing. Either way I think a family blog is hardly the sign of an awesome scrapbooker and really should not be considered as part of the contest entry...my opinion only people.
And on another horrifying note...tomorrow morning I go in for my follow-up girly exam...I'm crossing my fingers that they do NOT need to biopsy anything, because lets be honest, I dont want anyone scraping me out like a pumpkin unless I'm moderately intoxicated. It's hard enough to try to concentrate on the comics taped to the ceiling during the normal exam! I think I just need someone to reassure me that what i am doing will actually help the doctors to find better testing methods to help detect cancers better in more women, early on. (In case you missed that post, i posted last week that I am going in for a clinical study that is developing more testing methods for detecting HPV and Cervical Cancer in older specimens. The nurse that explained it to me said that if a test shows up abnormal in the lab they always run "backup" tests, and those aren't reliable enough once the sample has been sitting around for a few days, well this new testing they are researching is designed for this scenario. I'd like to think that my 20 minutes of agony will help someone in future...a girl can dream.)
Anyone catch Heroes tonight? My brain hurts from watching that show! It's the same every week. I sit glued to the tv for the full hour and as soon as it's done I say out like "WHAT THE ....." I'm completely addicted to it, the things those writers come up with...it's incredible. Horribly incredible...lol.
