Cupcake Inspiration....FAIL....lol

Okay, time again for another Cupcake Inspiration Challenge from Hope Stamps Eternal...And boy, this one was a challenge indeed! This inspiration photo has everything I like, the polkadots, the brown tones...but still I totally bombed out here. I will let you see for yourself.

See? I didnt even bother editing this photo, that is how much I dislike my final result. The patterns, I love. Together, not anymore. Ya know, half way through this card I kept telling myself it just wasnt feeling right. But I carried on...because I felt I owed it to my card. lol. How silly is that?
So here is what I do like: I like my sentiment treatment, the rhinestones all over, the orange damask is to die for, the houndstooth is like a dream....but the focal image...yeah, I like the concept of the fall cupcake...
But this cupcake doesnt have that wow to it that I was seeing in my head. I should have picked bolder colors for it, it kinda just fades into the leaves. and maybe the leaves should have been on a different layer. Either way, this card has failed me. Or did I fail my card? LOL.
So yeah, awesome amazing product to work with....probably one too many glasses of wine with dinner before sitting down to make this monster....ROFL!!
GO check out what the rest of the HSE sweeties have been up to and hopefully your faith in the CIC mojo will be restored once again...lol

Actually, it is still very pretty! It doesn't have your normal POP though. :)

I think you are too hard on yourself!! I'm so bad about pairing up different patterns, but I like how yours turned out!

Yummy! - First I love it that you posted even though you didn't like the card over all.
It's a nice card though and I like all the different patterns that you mixed together (lots of visual interest)and the leaves behind the cupcake are lovely.

You are too hard on yourself, Kelli! This is gorgeous! I love all the different textures and patterns. (When I saw your blog title, I thought "Oh no, she spelled FALL wrong!" but then I figured out that you meant it that way!) LOL I think this is fabulous! Go have another glass of wine! :)
