Gift Card Wallet

Anyone seen my wallet laying around?

This one was fun to make...I started with a 7"x8" piece of paper, folded it in half so that it measured 3.5"x8" and glue that shut. Next, round the corners and stitch around the outside edge. I scored and folded twice down the center about 1/16 inch apart so that it had "room" for the inside schtuff.
For the inside pockets, I just used scraps, I cant remember the dimensions of the pockets, but I cut half ovals in the middle of them to make room for pulling out the cards inside. Those got stitched around the outside edges for reinforcement. I trimmed and rounded the lower corner of the pockets AFTER stitching so I wouldn't have to line anything up...lol.

The photo pocket was trickier...I grabbed a scrap and trimmed it down to a 3.25" square, but 3" may have been better. Next I cut the half oval out of the top for pulling the picture in and out. After removing the center area, I grabbed a scrap of the clear plastic from a recent set of stamps I bought (seriously, I save my packaging for projects like this!!), I took the scrap and my cut out paper to the sewing machine and stitched it together. I trimmed the plastic down after sewing because it was easier for me. I used the red sticky strip tape to adhere this to the wallet because I didn't want the stitched seam to show through the front of the wallet.

The inside "guts" were fun to make, I used an older stash of inkadinkado dollar stamps for the IOU ticket and the Wishing You a Fabulous ticket. The English Bulldog picture in the photo pocket is a new Inkadinkado dollar stamp that I found last weekend at JoAnn's. Super cute huh? FYI, I've seen these new stamps on www.etsy.com , they are marked up on etsy but if you dont mind paying $2-$3 for these cuties (which I seriously would pay if I didn't know they were $1 sets...lol) then go to etsy and just type in the search bar "clear stamps" or "acrylic stamps" and see what shows up!
