I am exhausted and ready for bed! It's way past my bedtime, I stayed up late fighting with goop again to get more stamps listed. I only managed 6 sets tonight. I'm having some issues with the polymer goop, it's just not turning out as nice and clear as the commercially made stamps, the images themselves are great...it's the "floor" of the stamps that are a little like the old antique window glass, you know the kind that looks like it has water drops inside of it? Kinda like that. Nothing really wrong with it, the stamps are still clear, you can see through them...but they just look home made and I want them to look polished and professional...so I'm going to save up and instead of ordering more supplies for the next huge batch of stamps I am going to contract out the manufacturing. It's a little bit more money, but I think the results will be better and hey, it'll save me more time!
Plus it'll allow me to focus more on designing tons and tons of stamp sets for everyone to drool over. Yippee.
Oh so I had a "talk" with my husband, and up until now he just viewed the stamp thing as an "extra" side income to pay for my crafty purchases...but tonight we talked some more and we both agreed to go after this full steam and just see where it takes me. I am committed to it now, and I want to see this really take off. So I am going to really put as much as I can into it, it'll have to be little by little at first, but little things can sometimes have the biggest effects.

that is great, Kelli - wishing you all the success! Hope you can get back to designing more often now that you are contracting out the manual part.
YEAH! I think that's a great decision -- to contract out, and to "go for it." You're a busy working mom -- your sales are quickly going to outpace your ability to produce them. You are going to grow SO FAST, I can just feel it ... your stamps are very different than anything out on the market!
Yay Kelli! I think that is a great idea. Your time is valuable and when things take off you won't have the time to be a one-woman shop anyway. Send the tedious part off for someone else and concentrate on more cute kids! As my dad always liked to say "why should I do ______ (insert difficult and menial task name here) myself when there are people who do it professionally?". He likes to talk big of course!
i agree with what the others have said...the contracting out will be so much easier for you...this way you will have so much more time to work on "kids" and customer requests!...

Great decision, Kelli....You do want to design more, still spend time with family and doing the Mommy thing and not slave over goo all day...Besides with the way their going to sell, you'll be able to keep up with the # ordered that way.. I love the stamps I ordered and can't wait to start playing with them.....

That's really exciting news! I wish you the best of luck in this new venture :)
Oh, Monkeys would be so much fun and chickens. You can do so much with farm animals in general. A good pig, cow and oh yeah, have to have a bull in there. But chickens, your ducks for easter were awesome too. I just can't stop....turkeys, reindeer, polar bears, oh my...
