First off, a nesting shape is just a shape that will fit inside of the another with equal amounts of border on either side. Kinda like matting... I photographed my ovals on my cutting mat so you can see that they are very close in size. The smallest is cut at 2.5", the middle one is cut on 2.5" with shadow, and the largest is at 3.0", all cut with the cricut george cartridge.
With your cricut and your George cartridge, select the shape you want, for the instructions I'll say "oval"...so I like the 2.5" setting for cards, I cut one on a light/white/cream cardstock, then on a slightly darker or contrasting cardstock I cut one more on 2.5" and select the "shadow" button.
Those are my first two nesting shapes. Then I scroll up to 3" and cut one more oval in my main background color.
Then for added pop I adhere the first oval with my adhesive of choice.
Then I adhere those first to ovals to the third using pop dots. And all of those layers are adhered to my card/layout using more pop dots so that everything has great dimension.
For scallop shapes I use my celebrations cartridge and do the same thing! (If only that cartridge had a scalloped oval...lol)
(I only own the large scallop circle set of nestabilities, because they are so spendy, but they are incredibly versatile.)If anyone has trouble trying this out or wants to ask more questions, then by all means, post away!

Thanks so much Kelli!
I'm such a HUGE dork, totally forgot about my cricut for cutting shapes (i'd asked on the CKMB board re: punches). Dont have the celebrations cartridge but many I have have great shapes.. Guess I'll have to get the ol' cricut running again (I almost sold it recently cause I never use it) Awesome new cards!
