Remember When...

Okay, so I dont have a wild childhood to remember, kinda part of the being a girl thing...but girls can get into trouble too.

So what in the world was I thinking when.....

My younger sister and I were young and stupid once, i know crazy...I was around 8 and she was about 5 and we would grab my laundry hamper. Not the cute little hipster kind, this was a full on three foot tall hamper with a flip lid. I would hunker down inside of it, and she would ask "ready yet?"

"Yeah, GO!" And she'd push. I know this all sounds benign...but this push occurred at the top of the stairwell. I would go thumping down the stairs in my hamper and crash into the front door. We lived in a split entry house, so the flight down wasn't that impressive, but the landing was great! It was jarr you so suddenly that all you could do was sit there and try to breathe.

Looking back on that, I dont know why did it, I'd be far to chicken to do it now, I really dont want to die....lol.

What did you all do to entertain yourselves back in the day?

You were a wild child!! I don't have any stories like that. I did like to make mud pies. Perhaps that's where my fascination with dirt began...interesting.

My brother and I would stand super close to the wall heater (big long thing attached to the wall) and see who could stand against the heater the longest (you know until your back was on fire and you were nearly burning) then we would run to the kitchen and lay on the linoleum to try and "take out" the burn. We did this all the time. Clearly we have no brains.

LOL - funny. The dumbest thing I can remember doing is with my cousins, we took turns getting inside an old tire and then one of us would roll the other down a huge hill - we saw it on TV and it looked fun. It was very dumb not fun. Aside from the fact that I couldn't fit inside a tire anymore...I'd be too chicken now anyway.

My next oldest sister and I would sometimes push our two beds together until the footboards touched. Then we would try to flip from one bed to the next. Occasionally, if we didn't flip high enough, our heads would touch a footboard! Might account for my "occasional" stupidity - LOL! Definately NOT something I would try to do today!
