Well, I am hitting my Christmas projects hard this year! Here's a brief rundown of what's going on: I made a clock for my mommy (see it up there? we'll get to that.) I made a double layered fringe fleece blankie for my youngest daughter, if anything she'll chew on the fringe. I am in the process of making four funky aprons for my sisters. (They each get two.) And I am going to make matching nightgowns for my two daughters. What did I forget? Oh yeah, I wanted to make a cover for my fireplace hearth (we have one of those concrete floating hearths that is about a foot and a half off the ground, it's ugly and scratched and in some serious need of paint.) I also want to put little bench cushions on it as well, it's deep enough that we all sit on it all the time since we cant use the fireplace till we get the liner replaced. So yeah, big list 'eh?
Now for that there clock...not really my style, but it is awesome for my mom. She has been searching everywhere for a sewing/quilting themed clock. We cannot find anything at the stores. So I figured I may as well make her one, how hard could it be? I cut all the little 1.5" squares and glued them all down, then used the cricut celebration cartridge on 5.5" for the scalloped square in the center, the all mixed up font cartridge for the numbers and the animal kingdom cartridge for the giant kitty. The kitty is also set to 5.5". The poor kitty looked so blah at first, so I inked the contours on both layers of the kitty to give it some help. Oh and did you see the little stitching on the quilted background? That's a technique tuesday clear stamp from a stitching set that I was given a while back. I really hope my mom likes it, because it does not fit into my decor...lol.
So I ventured to costco today...that's always wild. I found some great gifts while i was there, they had soft and cozy giant nautica robes so i got one for my husband, i swear though if he doesn't like it i'll keep it and use it for a blankie....lol. Oh and I found Steve Colbert's new book "I am America (And so can you)" Just reading the cover had me laughing so hard, there is a funny little "Waning" label on the back about making sure you're book is not a stolen copy, it's written in what my husband and I lovingly refer to as Engrish. Anyway, that's going to my dad, I think he'll get a kick out of it.
And what's Christmas without a little Winnie the Pooh? Grabbed that since costco was already sold out of the Dora christmas video. Not that I needed another Dora video in the house, I think she's scary looking....seriously, do you ever notice how her head is just never drawn at a natural angle???
I was going to start sewing those aprons together tonight, but our power keeps flickering in and out today, seriously like twice an hour it flicks off. I really dont feel like sewing my finger to an apron so I'll do this instead....lol.
Happy Sunday Night!

Love that clock, really cute! Yeah, Dora is scary. When I read her books to my daughter I always find myself talking like she does. Sheesh.
TFS!
