Knowledge isn't power, it's scary!

Okay, well, time to share my biopsy results. No dysplasia! However I do have CIN 1 HPV I guess. I didn't get to chat with my doctor about it, she was called to an emergency delivery during my appointment, so I just spoke briefly with the nurse who gave me a useless handout of information.

I have to go back in 6 months to be re-evaluated, and have another round of testing done. And in an effort to figure out what the heck is going on with me I have been internetting up a storm!

There was a site I found both useful and terrifying. Tons of awesome information! Here's what scared me from my research: Hpv is an std, most women dont know they have it. The majority of the strains are harmless and a few cause genital warts (gross!!) and those strains do not cause cervical cancers. Phew. However I do not have those harmless warty strains. I have CIN (cervical intra-epithelial neoplasia) which is a cell condition that is present with an hpv infection from one of four strains. Follow? Only four strains of hpv cause this condition, and this condition if it progresses and is untreated can cause cervical cancers. I only have the mild condition, the "1" stage, which is good. It can be cleared my body naturally. Phew. However, if I progress to "2 or 3" it gets scary. So yeah, I sure am going to stay on top of this!!

Anyway, here's the link to the site, and I highly recommend that if you are a woman, at least glance at the site. It's awesome information that you wouldn't ever stumble on unless you were faced with cervical cancers, or the threat of them.

And: Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! We had a lovely day spent with our food. The girls didn't do so well with savoring my yummy cooking though. Madison refused to eat any of it, she smashed her potatoes into a flat disc on the table, threw her ham onto my plate, pushed her sweet potatoes and carrots onto the floor and smeared stuffing across her stomach. So she was dismissed to go watch cartoons while we ate. (I took pictures of the crime scene) Haleigh, who is typically our stellar eater, she failed too! She got sweet potatoe on her eyelid, smeared mashed potatoes across her forhead, threw her ham off the highchair, and started piling the rest of her food up on her shoulder trying to mimic how we answer the telephone. She's still not saying much, so her hello comes out "eeeeoooooo" and she tilts her head like she's cradling a phone...stinkin' cute by the way! She did at least eat a wee bit of food. Kevin and I on the other hand thoroughly enjoyed our late lunch early dinner.

and now that it's all done, I am retreating in my "nerd zone" to make pinecone ornaments to hang from the mantle in between the stockings. I caved on wednesday after my biopsy results and succombed to good old retail therapy...I bought the DCWV christmas stack...there was cuter stuff in there than I had expected, makes me wish I went all out and bought that ultimate scrapbook kit that had the cardstock in it too! Perhaps in six months after my next scary appointment I will let loose(er) and go for the "good paper"...hehehe.

Sending hugs and a congrats to your doctors for the early diagnosis, which is key! I think my cervical angel (mom passed & her birthday was 11/22, your post date) sent me your way as I rarely look at blogs (& never leave a comment) but accidentally clicked yours and then saw the linked path. Great information & very understandable (I will be sharing to educate more). Stay on top of it as there is so much treatment available in the early stages if it were to progress.

Take care...and more hugs...
